Dry Eye Treatment
Dry Eye is a condition where the eye doesn’t produce enough quality tears to keep the eye lubricated. Symptoms of dry eyes include: blurred vision, excess watering, and irritated, gritty, scratchy or burning eyes.
Treatments for dry eyes aim to restore or maintain the normal amount of tears in the eye to minimize dryness and related discomfort and to maintain eye health.
Many factors can cause Dry Eye including: age, gender, medications, environmental conditions, and medical conditions
The doctors at Laramie Vision Clinic are experts at identifying Dry Eye with Lipiscan and microscopes
We offer treatments customized for your needs: from eye drops and punctal plugs to the newest treatment technologies, such as Lipiflow for Chronic Dry Eye
For the procedures and surgeries which can’t be performed in-house by the Laramie Vision Clinic, we recommend the Eye Center of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Foster and Dr. Arnold are some of the very best in the country in performing eye procedures.
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed eye surgeries in the United States, in fact more than half of those over 60 years old have had it done to their eyes! That makes up more than three million per year! The procedure has improved considerably over the years and is now a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. Most patients see an improvement in vision even on day one!
See a YouTube video on how modern cataract surgery is performed:
Vision is often good enough the day after surgery that as long as you use the prescribed eye drops, you can go back to your work or other favorite activities.
We recommend an expert in cataract surgery, Gary Foster M.D. who operates in Ft. Collins, CO. The surgery will take place at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado and all of the pre and post op appointments are performed by your doctor at the Laramie Vision Clinic. One of our doctors had cataract surgery performed by Dr. Foster.
Our local doctors can easily determine if you have a cataract
Factors which can help create cataracts are UV exposure, smoke, diabetes, and a poor diet
Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed eye surgeries in United States
A replacement lens (lens implant) after cataract surgery can correct for distance vision, astigmatism and possibly near vision
Lasik & Beyond
LASIK is an outpatient refractive surgery procedure used to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. A laser is used to reshape the cornea — the clear, round dome at the front of the eye — to improve the way the eye focuses light rays onto the retina at the back of the eye.
A finely controlled laser is used to delicately shape the Cornea and is most commonly done by using a flap which is created by either a microblade or a bladeless laser and then folded out of the way to apply the reshaping laser. The flap is then laid back into its original position and heals in place quickly. If necessary in select patients, laser vision correction is also possible without creating a flap.

The procedure just takes a few minutes and only requires eye drops afterwards to help it heal.
New state of the art procedures, beyond LASIK, that may correct near vision and distance vision may be available for you.
We recommend Dr. Dishler in Denver and Dr. Foster at the Eye Center of Northern Colorado for LASIK:
